AGRI EXPORT ZONE (AEZ) - JAGGERY

Proposal to set up an AEZ for promoting export of solid jaggery,liquid jaggery,
jaggery powder and organic jaggery and related products.

Maharashtra jaggery production is 11-12% of the total production in the country

Production of jaggery is concentrated in Districts of southern Maharashtra
-
A number of activities have been suggested under the AEZ to facilitate export
including interventions in production particularly for organic jaggery, post
harvest activities and marketing promotion.

Total project outlay in Rs.1883 lacs over 5 years.
Present Status

An AEZ for jaggery will cover the District of Kolhapur, Sangli and Satara.

The Detailed Project Report (DPR) of an AEZ for jaggery submitted through GOM
to GOI for approval is under consideration by the GOI.
