Following facilities are created by MSAMB for exporting fruits &

4. Vapour Heat Treatment with pre-cooling, Cold Storage facilities at/in Navi
Mumbai /
Konkan & Aurangabad area.
5 ) Radiation processing facility at / in Navi Mumbai area.
6 ) Onion Facility at Kalvan, Dist.Nasik.
1. Export Facility Centre Vashi :
MSAMB has erected modern packhouse includes pre-cooling & cold storage at
vegetable market, Vashi, Navi Mumbai. The facility can be provided on lease
basis for farmers as well as exporters.
2. Mango Export Facility :
With the help of APEDA, New Delhi, MSAMB has created a pre-cooling, cold
storage and ripening chamber facility at Nachane. Dist. Ratnagiri &
Jamsande, Dist. Sindhudurg for export of Alphanso mangoes. Both facilities can
be used by farmers, their co-op societies & exporters in the current
season.

In Marathwada region, the major area comes under kesar cultivation. So MSAMB
has decided to set up export facility centre at Jalana. Other than mango
season, the facility is used for storage of various agricultural commodities.
5. Onion Export Facility Centre :
The facility has been located at Indapur, Dist. Pune. MSAMB has erected onion
storage structures (capacity - 500 MTs) which is given on lease to farmers or
their co-operative societies & exporters on nominal charges.

Golden Opportunity For Exporters of Fruits & Vegetables
Use The Ultra Modern Facility For Export...
The MSAMB with the help of APEDA has set up temperate control pack house along
with packing line, pre cooling and cold storage at Vashi, New Mumbai for the
exporters. The exporter can use this facility for different fruits and
vegetables in the machanised pack house and enhance the shelf life of the
products.

Facility includes packing line which is mainly useful for
round fruits. The products get automatically washed, dried, graded without
touching.

The processed products then can be pre cooled with ultra
modern facility at reasonable rates. The temperate can be maintained in between
1°C to 15 °C along with humidity.

The product then can be stored in the cold storage for
maintaining the cold chain. The container can be stuffed at this facility.

Besides this, Vapour Heat Treatment facility has been set up
with the help of APEDA, New Delhi. The machine has been imported from Japan. To
export different fruits & vegetables to Japan, it is mandatory to treat the
fruits & vegetables through this facility. After treatment, produce can be
exported to Japan. So far Japan has not permitted import of fresh fruits &
vegetables even after the treatment of VHT, however after permission it would
be possible to export these items to Japan, Australia and New Zealand etc.

Proposed Infrastructure Facilitities :
Recently Government of India has declared Agri Export Zone for Banana. MSAMB
has apponted as a Nodal Agency for AEZ for Maharashtra.
India is the third largest producer of fruits after Brazil & USA. Due to
lack of infrastructure facilitites required in this sector, large quantity of
farm produce is get wasted with adoption of new scientific methods &
efficient technologies, the production has been increased in order to cope with
current & future food demands.
Considering these facts, MSAMB has decided to errect modern packhouses for Post
Harvest Management in Banana which can be used for Banana Exports from the
State it incudes automatic conveyor system for handling of banana, pre-cooling,
cold storage and ripening chamber.
